Ann has specialized post licensure training in the following areas:

  • Anxiety and Stress 

    • Physical symptoms like headaches or stomachaches, or emotional changes like irritability or anger may be a sign your child is experiencing anxiety or overwhelming amounts of stress. Children are navigating increasing expectations and social pressures today that contribute to growing rates of anxiety. Play based interventions are designed to provide clients with tools to manage these big emotions and experience more joyful moments.​

  • Children, Tweens, Teens

    • Each stage of development brings about unique opportunities for growth and challenges.  Ann incorporates developmental psychology perspectives into each client’s psychotherapy sessions focusing on personal interests, strengths and self-concept.  Ann has post licensure training to work with children as young as 3 years old through young adulthood transitions to independent living. ​

  • Depression and mood stability

    • Childhood depression, tween and teen depression and mood instability require specialized training and interventions as the symptoms appear  differently than in adults.  Ann approaches depression and mood swings through Play-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. ​

  • Learning, Development Differences and Neurodiversity

    • Neuro-affirming practices routed in Neurobiology, Brain Science, and Sensory Systems are all incorporated into a multi-sensory approach to therapy in Ann’s clinical work.  Ann has extensive experience in addressing the secondary stressors client’s experience while honoring their neurodiversity.​

  • Parent Child Relationships

    • Ann incorporates Filial Therapy, Child Parent Relational Therapy, and Strengths Based interventions into family sessions.  Ann offers parents coaching, consultation and psychoeducational resources to meet each family’s unique needs and structure. ​

  • Play Therapy

  • Theraplay

  • Trauma Informed Care

    • Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) provides clients with a safe and supportive environment to process difficult traumatic experiences, develop coping tools, build trust and heal emotional wounds.  Play provides clients with the ability to communicate experiences that are not easily verbalized through exploring, enacting, emotional processing and regaining a sense of control. ​
